Can dreams foretell the future?

this past year or so, I have been experiencing things during the day, which i dreamt about the night before. They are always little things, but big enough to notice. For example, I dreamed of a cousin who NEVER texts me. I woke up that morning and I heard my phone vibrate. Sure enough it was her asking whats up. Im not the type of person to believe in bs like this but it is starting to get scary! Is it just CRAAAAZY coincidence or are my dreams telling me something?
