If a guy invites you to a movie and pays for the tickets in advance, should you pay him back?

I don't mind paying for myself, I just honestly don't know what is best to do in cases like these. On one hand, it's, of course, nice (gentlemanly, you know), on the other, I feel sort of awkward, kinda like I'm ripping him off. Oh, btw we both work.
