What does this poem mean its a short poem.?

In literary terms, to be on "the other side" is to be dead. We who are alive are on this side; those who have died have ped over to the other side. So this poem is spoken in the voice of someone who has died, someone who is describing the "other side" for the benefit of those who are still on this side. Read through the poem, keeping in mind that the speaker is saying, "This is what it's like to be dead." Now that I'm dead, I don't feel despair or fear, I don't have to put up with bad books, I don't have to pay insurance premiums, I'm never sick, etc. If someone is saying that, what tone do you think they're saying it in? Are they bummed out? Are they happy?
