Making it further.?

Im a sophmore player for my baseball team, and im eager to play college ball in a few years, i just have a few questions, i play centerfield, but i might take a move out to shortstop, 3rd, or 2nd base. i have good defense, and i have good contact but not to much power, i heard scouts only look at the team captains, and they come around rarely, even though my school is kinda popular(only for football and basketball) and even if they look at me, what if i make one mistake are they gonna turn their heads and say "next", how does it work. thanks.
