The PTA doesn't seem to think my kitchen-duty experience from prison qualifies me to oversee their bake sale..?

All the moms are, like, shying away from working with me, which I think is just wrong. When I took my little girl door-to-door selling cookies for her scout troop, she not only sold hundreds of dollars worth of cookies, but got a few credit cards and iPods given to her, so I'm sure I can help make this bake sale turn a profit. Why are they being so stubborn? Are they just jealous, or what?
